SERBIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SENIORS 2022

Last weekend (March 12, 2022), an open state championship for seniors was held in Voždovac’s Sumice, where 41 clubs and 187 male and female competitors participated. Our club took the big fifth place with a rejuvenated team and only two seniors. The Judo Federation of Serbia has once again shown that this organization is the best in the region, and all participants are witnesses, as well as spectators near small screens who could see the final block of the competition on the “Arena fight” channel for the first time.

This time, black and white defended:

  • Mladen Djordjevic, who “cleaned up” everything until the semifinals, and lost in the semifinals to the competitors of the judo club “Kinesis”, who was a shade better. It was a brotherly match, because they know each other extremely well and they both grew up in the same club (JK “Bor”). In the fight for the medal, Mladen showed readiness and determination, but this time a moment of inattention left him without a medal. He showed that he is a serious fighter facing a bright future.
  • Aleksandar Petrovski, who recently changed the category, did not do very well. It is obvious that changing the weight category requires a certain period of getting used to, as well as additional physical strength in order to resist your opponents. Aleksandar is a member of the national team and vice-champion of last year’s junior championship up to 66 kg.

-Andrey Del Rosso Pirolo our reinforcement at the start of the season proved to be right, because Andrej was waiting for a thorny path on the way to the national medal. The first two rounds warmed up our future Olympian, while in the quarter finals he was met by an awkward competitor from the Red Star, Zebeda REKHVIASHVILI, a difficult match that Andrey decided in his favor and opened the way to the semifinals. In the semifinals, he was met by a competitor from Nis, the Chinese, who managed to outwit our leader with exceptional tactics. In the fight for the bronze medal, Pirolo justified the role of one of the favorites to win the championship by defeating his opponent from ODŽK Belgrade

-Vojin Mandić, our young hope facing a bright future, showed readiness and lethality of his techniques, but unfortunately the tribute to inexperience in rematch did not allow him to fight for a medal that will soon be in his hands if he continues on the path he is currently on.

  • Matija Miletić, another young hope of our club, showed that he is slowly becoming a serious fighter, but that it takes time and that he has a road ahead of him that has yet to be paved.
  • Aleksandar Ristic, our old hardened fighter who is at the end of his career and who started his coaching career very successfully, this time failed to win a state medal, although, as always, he left his heart on the field.

-Nišavić Nikolina, our most successful competitor, defended her place in the club and in the country and at the age of less than 18 she routinely won the finals, where she was met by Red Star competitor Milica Nikolić, Serbian participant in last year’s Olympic Games and winner of many European and world medals. The final from last year was repeated and from the attached it can be seen that Nikolina had a challenge that she is still not ready to answer, but that does not mean that in the next period our contestant will not overcome that challenge.

  • Jelena Nišavić, our future hope, showed at the age of 16 that her time is yet to come, having in mind that she has almost returned to the tatami and that she is still recovering from the operation that befell her at the end of last year. Jelena gave her maximum, which at this moment was not even close to the peak to which Jeca is accustomed to us, which she will reach and skip very quickly with hard work.
  • Kristina Nišavić, who for years has been bringing top results at the national level side by side with her sisters, this time was left without a medal. All of these are lessons from which Kiki will emerge more experienced and strong for the next fight when her dedication and work will once again be rewarded with recognition around her neck on the biggest podium.
  • Sadiku Dunja, a revelation and surprise at the senior national championship, won a bronze medal. Everyone in the club knows very well how valuable and unpleasant Dunja is as an opponent, and we have been waiting for the moment when her persistence and perseverance will pay off, which is what is happening this year. Dunja opened the year in a fantastic way with two medals from the national championship, and we want her to continue like this.
  • Dugonjić Jana, our competitor who returned to training last year before the league, showed that she is ready for great undertakings, winning a silver medal and becoming the vice-champion of the state. For many who train and stop at some point in their lives and return, it is not possible for it to be so famous. Our Jana has just shown the opposite and that form is transient, and class is eternal.
  • Anastasia Bogdanović, our young hope and competitor who is constant in winning state medals, made us happy this time as well, taking third place at the state championship for seniors. She showed that continuity in work and commitment to training is something that no one can take away from her and that in the long run she will give even more.
